Adjusting to your new updated spectacles
Adjusting to your new Spectacles
Congratulations on the purchase of your new spectacles! We trust you will be very happy with them. Not only will you be able to see better, but your new spectacles will improve your quality of life.
Whilst you have worn spectacles in the past, each time you purchase them, your experience is sure to be slightly different.
Factors contributing to this are frame size and shape change, prescription change, lens design change as well as your physical and emotional state at this point in time.
Even though your last pair of glasses seemed perfect from the moment you put them on, it doesn’t mean this will ALWAYS be the case. Therefore you may need some extra time so your eyes and brain get used to this new artificial lens you have just put on.
If you experience headaches, dizziness or possibly even blurrier vision, this unfortunately is possible within the first couple of weeks. There may not be a problem, you may just need to persevere for a while longer. If this continues after two (2) weeks, certainly don’t hesitate to come back to discuss this.
When you put on your spectacles in the store, you may be very happy with the way they feel, but after a few hours or days, you might find they are too loose or too tight.
It may be necessary to come back for some fine tuning on the fitting. This is also very normal. It may also be necessary to come back from time to time for re-adjusting & tightening due to wear and tear. This is a free service for the life of your spectacles.
Tips for caring for your spectacles:
- Always remove your spectacles with both hands.
- Never put your spectacles face down on the lenses.
- Never clean your spectacles on your shirt or with anything other than a soft tissue or microfibre cloth.
- Always handle your spectacles carefully – they are NOT indestructible.
- If your frame loses its shape or you bend them somehow, come in to see us, so we can attempt to repair them. We probably have a better chance of a successful result rather than doing it yourself.
We hope you enjoy wearing your new spectacles and we look forward to seeing you again for your next eyewear purchase or simply for any adjustments to your current eyewear.
